La Vie en Rosie: A Nursery Tour

La Vie en Rosie: A Nursery Tour

It’s been such an honor to share the details of Rosie’s room with Baltimore magazine. As my friends and colleagues could tell you — because they had to listen to me deliberate over dressers for months (sorry, ladies!) — I put a lot of thought and love into planning this space.

All the effort, of course, was partly because I wanted our sweet babe to have a beautiful room to come home to; but I know that it was also because obsessing over design details gave me a small sense of control over something, anything, during a time in my life when I felt like so much was completely out of my hands.

The planning process was…slow. I spent months mulling over rugs, rocking chairs, dressers and dream catchers, piecing it all together in a PowerPoint (the most low-tech design hack ever) so that I could compare how various options would work in the room. As it all came together, I stopped trying to strategize too much and just followed my gut — and it quickly became clear that I was drawn to a boho-chic style with vintage vibes and southwestern accents.

I spend a lot of time in this room: rocking Rosie to sleep at night, pacing back and forth when I coax her down for an afternoon nap, playing blocks on the floor and reading books with the whole family before bedtime. And every time I look around, I’m filled with gratitude: for my family, for our home, for all the wonderful friends and fam who contributed something special to this space and helped fill it with love for our cozy Rosie.

I was extremely honored when Baltimore magazine reached out about featuring it in their April 2020 issue. They sent the lovely Alicia Wiley Photography over to photograph all the details, and she was kind enough to take some family photos for us, too. (In addition to Rosie and myself, my mom and Sonny also made an appearance!)

Keep scrolling to find everything you ever wanted to know about Rosie’s room: You can click through to the full feature with Baltimore magazine, find the full photo gallery (all by Alicia Wiley!) and shop the space — with links to almost every major item in the room.

Feel free to leave a comment or reach out if you have any questions!

All love,
Kelsey
